East Outlet, Kennebec River
East outlet trip overview
The 170 mile long Kennebec River begins with the East Outlet. From Moosehead Lake it flows for three and half miles, where it meets Indian Pond. Although shorter in length than other sections, this is an incredibly productive stretch of river. Salmon and brook trout drop in from both lakes, and during the spring and fall they can be found throughout the river.
This is classic trout water and offers anglers the opportunity to catch fish with a variety of techniques, all with the added benefit of some fun class three rapids.
Drift boats are the boat of choice here. Raft option is available if the water gets too thin. Each can comfortably fit guide and two people.
All trips are full days. Like with any guided trip, everything is included as well as snacks and a shore lunch. Once you book, you’ll receive trip checklists and details on what to expect, what to wear, lunch choices, as well as lodging options.
This is a great river for all skill levels and the best float fishery in the state.
